Christian Eltner is Director General of the Austrian Insurance Association (VVO) since April 2023. In addition he holds the positions as Managing Director of the Association of Insurance Companies at the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (WKÖ), Managing Director of the Austrian Road Safety Board (KFV), Member of the Board of the Austrian Institute for Professional Insurance Education (BÖV) and Deputy Managing Director of the Vienna Institute (GVFW). Before becoming Director General, Christian Eltner was Director for legal and international affairs at the VVO. He holds a  Master degree in law studies from the University Vienna, a DAS/Diploma Insurance Management from the University St. Gallen (HSG) and is President of the Austrian association of expert lay judges, expert lay judge at the Commercial Court Vienna and expert lay judge in labour and social law at the Higher Regional Court Vienna.
