
John Reynolds started in the insurance industry after leaving full time education in 1980 and in the first few years worked in various underwriting and claim handling roles with a major UK insurer before settling in Motor Claims. There was a brief foray into the world of accountancy managing a fleet of 3,000+ cars before returning to an insurer as a motor claim handler gaining more experience and handling increasing complex cases. Approximately 25 years ago John took over running a Team of fraud claim handlers after a few years of being a trainer. This move expanded John’s interest in the murky world of fraudulent claims learning about various detection systems and implementing them. Eight years ago John joined MIB as a Technical Claim Manager with particular reference to fraud. In this role John leads MIB policy on fraud prevention and detection. At the same time John joined the Fraud Working Group of the COB becoming the chair in 2024.
